Character Auction!

Teaser 1:
Crazy huh? Rumor has it during one of the days of your local anime convention, they're going to set up a room where they'll sell live characters from animes, video games, and even jrock. If you have the winning bid, you'll get to spend a full hour with complete control over the character of your choice. Part of the bid will go towards a prearranged lunch, one-on-one with her or him. Bidding starts at 15 dollars, and since you were going to spend 5-10 dollars on lunch anyway, its just like getting a free character with it! So it's like a happy meal!

Teaser 2:
The dedicated rabid fan girls from Cosplay Zone have
stolen the nifty time machine and while turning the different
knobs and settings they've managed to slip into the
different worlds from anime, games and JRock. Dragging
them to your local convention! Where you can now buy
live characters (who are really actors in disguise!
                - AKA; actor NINJAS!

These fine people are ruthlessly trained and fitted into
the role of their character for your viewing pleasure!
(No touchie!.. well no "creepy touchie!") Basically you will
get an actor er.. Character all to yourself for an entire hour
PLUS a lunch AND one of a kind memorabilias!

RABID FANGIRLS ASSOCIATION, Story
The Cosplay Zone's Rabid Fangirls Association has stolen the Elrics time
machine! After playing around with it's knobs and buttons they have created a portal through the time machine into different worlds. This has allowed them to step into the realm of animes, mangas, video games and even the strange world of JRock. After realizing the power they held in their hands the R.F.A decided to share their wealth! They have brought these characters and persons from such far away places right here! To this very convention! Like any fan girl they needed money for the dealers room (of course!) So in order to raise money they are selling off their victims to other fans for a period of time. You see, They realize characters are people too and have decided it's best to return them home once the magic of their secret weapon wears off.
...What is this secret weapon you ask? Why it's a new invention, one they stumbled across in the anime world of Case Closed straight from professor Agasa's work shop. It's a "Military Dog Tag" that has magical powers over the character for a length of time. It is still a new invention and it's time limit is still fairly low.. with an average time of about an hour and a half which is long enough for you to spend one on one time with your favorite character and ask them just about anything that you've ever wondered! Hey don't forget to grab some lunch with your character too! Who else can go home after a cool day at your favorite convention with bragging rights to having just had lunch with Roy Mustang or Edward Elric?

*Following CZP's storylines?
The Character Auction is an interactive event that is nestled
between one of their plays that had recently played in the
west coast, most recently Phoenix Cactus Comic Con 2008.
Play along and write down clues you will find to be reveled

FASTPASS YOUR WAY TO THE FRONT!
Print out everything below the following "print line."
Then staple it together, fill it out acknowledging
you have read and understand it all. Then bring it
with you to the convention and present it at the
registration table. (There will be Two lines outside
the auction room doors. One for people who have
this filled out and ready and one for people who
need to read and fill it out. So you people that have
finished this already will sail through the fast line,
be handed a bidding number and be seated in

Frequently Asked Questions

1: Is this like a real auction?
Yes, Sort of. So below we have arranged some answers
for you. This is still a new event for us and if you have any
questions not outlined below please shoot us an e-mail so
that we may answer it and then ad it to our FAQ list.

2: How do I buy a character & How do I bid?
You will need to register at our desk before you can bid.
Be on time for registration. We will require you to fill out
a short bidding & winners bidder contract, witch outline the
rules and what the characters (actors) can and can not do.

-You will be given this paper at registration, or you can
print it out from here, have it filled out and ready for us. :D

**You will be given a bidding number and may sit where
ever you like. We encourage bidders to first fill the front
rows so it will make things easier on our MC to see your
          bidder numbers.

**To make a bid simply wave your number up VERY high or
stand up and hold your number up. You may call out a bid
but make SURE you show your number high so we may see
you, otherwise you may be overlooked!

**If you bid you ARE expected to pay, serious cash bids only.

Pooling money?
You may pool money (means gather money) from your
friends and family or whoever wants to donate to your
cause. Just be advised if you and a large group of
friends do decide to do this your 'group' must delegate
a leader. Your group leader must be the only person
bidding for your group (Because anyone who bids higher
will count as a price raise! so say you bid $16.00 and
your group friend beside you bids $17.00 but you are
sharing the money, then you will be paying $17.00!
So make sure if you and your friends pull your
money together only one person bids!

That said, also note that the dog tags limit one person
to be the main controller of the character. Meaning
your friends can hang out with you and your character
as you have the ultimate say who can and can not hang
out with you and the character but your character will
primarily and only really focus on your group leader.
The more people in the crowed the less power the
dog tag has over your character! So use it wisely!! :D

There is a limit on guests/friends you can have at lunch.
Only two (2) guests may accompany you and your
character/actor to sit with you at lunch. Your bid price
does not cover your friends/guests, so if they want to
eat then they will have to pay for themselves. They are
more then welcome to attend but like we said only (2)
due to lack of space.

3: What do I get if I win?
*The Character/actor, will be 'yours' for one hour
immediately following the end of the auction.
(Rules included on the waiver/release forums)

*A Lunch with your character/actor is included
immediately following your one hour 'one on one' time.

*A one of a kind military type dog tag on chain with
special printing. (not even the actors have these!)

*Tiny HAND MADE figurine of your character!
Crafted by the Cosplay Zone only for you!
(The actors don't have these either! Another one of a kind!)

*Picture & Hang out rights. You hold the power of the dog tag.
You have the right to play selfish and keep your character all
to yourself! Or share him/her with only a select group of friends!

*That said, you can even have 2 guests attend the lunch with you and your
character. However only you and your character's food is free - your
friends will have to pay if they want to eat too.

*Bragging rights! Nuff Said?!

4: So what is the value of what I'm getting Vs. what I'm paying?
We estimate the worth value of just material cost like food and
goodies totals around $50-$70.00 However we start the
bidding at only $15.00!!

5: Do I have to bid or can I just watch?
No one is required to bid, you are more then welcome to attend just to
watch the auction. You will be either seated in the back or will be asked
to stand if there are many bidders. Our seating is first for the people who
wish to bid, front row seats are only for bidders or special guests that
have reservations. If you do plan to bid you MUST register at the
table sign the papers and then receive your bidders number from the
table. (See question #2)

6: Who are the actors & where do they come from?
The actors have both been scouted for these roles and have
auditioned for them. They follow strict rules, guidelines and
must possess certain qualities to have such a role. Our actors
in the character auction are ALL over 18 years of age and work
closely together in weekly rehearsals with everyone involved in
the event. Most of the actors come directly from Cosplay Zone
it's self or work with Cosplay Zone in efforts to bring the right
actors to the characters.

7: Can I be sold too?
You may audition for the character auction but be advised,
background checks on our actors are enforced. It's best to
read our Auditioning page found on the Cosplay Zone web
site outlining other FAQs. This particular role requires you
to be at least 18 years of age, consent to a background
check and be in good standing with the current fan base
we will be working with.

-One must have a clear head and able to act
professional at all times when working.

-When not working but around conventions or
anywhere associated with cosplay zone, one
must have a profound understanding of maturity
and reflect it in a friendly nature towards all other
      persons.

-Costume; must meet our requirements. This means
if you have a costume/cosplay you want to 'be' for the
auction and have passed the auditions, background
checks, signed the rules and guidelines contracts,
we still have the right to refuse your costume/cosplay
if it is not to our current standard. We do this not to be
mean but to reflect to the very best of the character.
(these are just a few of the rules for people auditing to
be the 'sold' actors at our character auction.)

     -If you are truly interested contact;

8: C.A.S.T
[Character Auction Strike Team]
These people are here to take care of everyone and are one
of the most important aspects in the event. They are the
ushers, registration people, security and go-betweens.
They are also our lunch people and everything else needed
under the sun. Basically, they are everyone BUT the actors
being sold.

-This is a volunteer position and you may
sign up to help us out. To sign up as a volunteer,

9: Security and safety?
Security monitors are provided and will be in the area of both the
winning bidder and character/actors - however you are not being
stalked by security they are simply spaced through out the area
and wired with radios in case you need anything.

Your character/actor will not correspond with them nor will they
notice them but your character/actor does have a cell phone on
them and a set of memorized codes with pre sets on their
phones to the auction HQ should the need arise for either of you.

If you are feeling harassed by other cosplayers or 'followed'
our security monitors are trained and have places where you
and your character can find solitude. Say should you not wish
to be bothered by people stopping the two of you for pictures,
there is no need to worry over protecting your prize. Our
monitors will kindly inform and ask those stalking you to
hold off until after your time has expired. We are here to
cater to you as best we can and you can either let one of
our monitors know or you can ask your character/actor to
ask the 'ninja's' for a more suitable place to chat.

*This is a big one and you will see this on the rules all over;...
Characters can NOT leave the convention grounds and there
are burrier's where they can not cross. Our monitors are set
up to watch those areas, the reason for this is yours and our
safety. You will know if a character can't cross an area
because they will inform you that the spell on the dog tag
won't physically allow them to cross into a particular area
or zone. For instance, the far parking lots where it's harder
to be seen. Those are off limits, Bathrooms and hotel rooms
are most defiantly off limits. Characters even of the same
gender can not enter a bathroom with you.
Hotel rooms should be obvious why not as well.

Your Character/actor is over the age of 18 and has
undergone strenuous rehearsal and rule exercises.
They know everything they can and cannot do.
Characters have the 'First Right of Refusal'
(you will see this on the rules as well.) This means
they know what is 'crossing the line' and if they feel
anything crosses that line they have the right to end
the "one on one time." (basically don't try to kiss
your character. Be respectful, they are here to act
for you in the end and entertain you to your hearts
content but no one wants to be sued over something
unnecessary. That said, you also attain this same
power, if at any time you choose to end your time
just let them know and the power of the magical
dog tags will be removed from them. You will get
your one of a kind goodies and may be free while
your character will return to his/her little box at HQ. :)

10:  Where does the money go?
Cosplay Zone Productions is a non-profit theatrical group of cosplayer's
so in order to help, Monies from the auction will be transferred into the
Cosplay Zone Improvement Fund. A portion of the proceeds are also
donated then to our non-profit local Christen contemporary radio stations.

11: Cosplay Zone Improvement Fund?
Cosplay Zone does not have a sponsor, is a non-profit group and own
all their own equipment. The past three years all money has come direct
out of pocket by it's members to fund the equipment and soft wear for
it's group and it's improvement. The group is made up of people with
experiences from all walks of life including degrees in the arts and
industry to new members just chomping at the bit to learn. We are
striving to open our doors soon to the public with classes regarding the
industry and it's arts. To do this we have come to a point where we find
ourselves at the end of our loan budgets. (basically the banks won't give
us anymore loans!) So we have set up this new donation source in order
to help further what we can do for you! :D
-The "Character Auction" is an event that will help
bring in money for our future funding!

Character Auction Rules

Serious Bids ONLY
We will not tolerate false/fake or crazy
amounts of money to be blurted out as a bid.
Onehundredbilliontrillion is not a reasonable number
and we will ask you to use more sense. ^_^
Should this be too hard to understand your bidder
number will be taken away and you may be asked
to leave. This is a fun but serious event with people
who have worked around the clock to make this as
much fun and thought out as possible.

**If you bid you ARE expected to pay.
You will have to pay immediately after the auction is
finished and before you and your character leave the
room. At this time you will receive your character which
will have already had the dog tag placed upon them and
directed to follow you.

Bidding starts at $15.00, this means
no bids will be under this amount.
If this is too much money we suggest you ask a
friend for help or just enjoy the event as a spectator.

Because of making change, small bid increases will
ONLY be accepted in 50 cent increases at a time.
meaning $15.50, $16.00, $16.50, $17.00, $17.50
and so on are acceptable.

Naturally you can bid the faster way of $15.00,
$20.00, $25.00, $25.50! or even higher!

Just no $15.25, $15,75, $15.15. Keep it 50 cent
increases or above. That won't be acceptable and
will not count. We also ask you don't do that to
confuse people, bid seriously. ^_^
--If this is at all confusing ask any Cosplay Zone
staff, or even your seat neighbor may understand
this. It is always better to ask if you are confused
then attempt to guess you think you understand.

CASH ONLY
Because we can't afford a credit card machine yet,
we can only accept cash! Sorry no personal checks!

In the odd case you have a money order or cashiers
check we will accept that (but we can't give you
change for MO or cashiers checks.)

First Right of Refusal
Characters have "First Right of Refusal."
What this means is that if things start
'crossing the line' your character/actor
may call off the time. No refunds are given
    So, simply use common sense.
There is fan-girling and there is practically
tackling the character and killing them with
creepy ness! Don't to be creepy, remember they
just got to this world from theirs and some of them
may not be so 'sure' of their surroundings! Plus If you
scare them too badly, you may scare the power right
out of the dog tag and loose control over your character!

*Now, that said You also have first right of refusal.
Should you for any reason choose to abandon your
character you just need to tell them and those words
alone will break the magical dog tag spell. You will get
your one of a kind memorabilia and the actor/character
will be released back to HQ. No refund will be given.
Should you choose to release them prior to lunch,
you relinquish your lunch meal.

NO CROSSING ZONES
Characters can NOT leave the convention/hotel
grounds and there are burrier's where they can
not cross. Some of these burrier's include;

  -Hotel Bedrooms
No character may go into any hotel room not
even for a second. Please don't ask them too
as the answer is already no.

  -Bathrooms
No character may go into any bathroom/wash
room with you at any time. Even if you are of the
same gender. If you need to use the restroom your
character will peacefully wait outside of the bathroom
until you return. That dog tag won't allow them to stray
too far so no worries about them accidentally wandering off!

  -Desolate places
No character may stray too far from head quarters. They can
wander the convention grounds with you but places that are
far, far from view cause the dog tags power to wear off and
don't allow the character to stray much further away. So it
is best to stay within the area.

LUNCH
Your character/actor has one other magical gift given to
them by the Rabid Fan Girls who first captured them and
placed them under the spell of the dog tags.
Each character is equipted with a strange device called a
"cell phone" some of them where happy and knew what it
was! others however have never seen anything like it! The
use of their cell is simple, it has a 'lunch alarm' on it!
This enables them to notify you when lunch will be ready!
After all no one wants to miss lunch.

**There is a limit on guests/friends you can have at lunch.
Only two (2) guests may accompany you and your
character/actor to sit with you at lunch. Your bid price
does not cover your friends/guests, so if they want to
eat then they will have to pay for themselves. They are
more then welcome to attend but like we said only (2)
  due to lack of space.

**If you don't like what the food(s) are for lunch one
of your friends may eat it for you, but we can't make
special arrangements due to a picky or allergic eater.
We will do our very best to have a wide enough range
of food(s) available but promises can not be made.

**At lunch you will "check in" prior to getting your food
It's a simple ID check to be sure you are the same
who bought the character, you will receive your one
of a kind memorabilia(s) at/during the end of lunch.
The dog tag will loose it's power after lunch
(approx 30 minutes. after your initial hour.)
At this time the dog tag has one last command for the
character, which requires them to take it off and hand it to you.
By this time they may have gotten acquainted with you enough
and stick around longer or they may run back to HQ..
...after all they are now free from that spell that you paid for!

NOT BABYSITTERS
The characters are not your babysitters, nor are they your group
of friends babysitters. Should you run off and ditch them suddenly
they may try and find you because of the power of the dog tag,
however they will probably not chase you around.

STUFF WATCHING
The characters/actors can NOT watch your bag nor can they hold
your purse, cell phone, wallet etc. They will not hold anything for
you in fact. This is for our safety we can not be responsible for
your items. If you need to use the restroom take your items with you.

RULES OF THE CONVENTION
You and your character and all parties associated with you
still fall under the rules and regulations of the convention and hotel.
No running in halls and yes the weapon policy is still in effect.

TIPS/GIFTS
Characters can not give, or receive gifts nor can they
accept tips during the duration of the event.

If you want to give them something do it after
the event is finished with.

PANELS
yes, you may take your character into a panel! :D
If fact I'm sure they are wondering what this place is
and where they are, panels may help explain to them
what this strange world of an "anime convention" is.
Don't forget they where just dragged into our world from
theirs and may be a tad baffled or even scared!
-Just remember how much time you have with you
have with your character and choose your time wisely.
I'm sure you don't want to spend the entire time in
  a panel room!

Dealers Room!
Yes of course you can go into the dealers room!
Please do not buy the character/actor any gifts they can not
accept them during the event. If you really want to get them
something please find them after the event and give it to them
at that time. :)
We love gifts but we will not accept any during the
'power of the dog tags' are in effect. (this means the entire duration
of the event from start to finish.)or/character chooses to later after the
event that is fine but you will not get any gifts from your character
during this event other then what is outlined in the 'what you get'
portion of the FAQs.

The character/actor can not buy you anything either.
