Panel 2; Art meets needle; Sewing Cartoons into Life.

In this panel we will first take a look
at the character and then his/her clothes.
Before buying cloth, before buying buttons
thread or zippers we will look at the character
as a 3D model. It took an artist to construct
this character and it is going to take one to
de-construct it. By this we mean looking at
every part of their clothes, how they wear them,
how they fit, how loose or tight are they and how
they are connected with each other. If the
character can do back flips in their clothes then
you should have the same (or close to) the same
ability. Not that we are telling you to do cartwheels
and flips mind you, but if your character can run and
you cannot there is a problem here. So we will be
looking at how much fabric you should allow
in between certain areas so that you can stretch
your arms up over your head vs. being restrained.

Secondly.. are there hidden pockets?
Does this make sense?
How do I make this make sense??
Why snaps and Velcro aren't the same as buttons.
Did your character have that kind of cloth in their time?
Does your character have snaps or do they have buttons?
Does your character have Velcro or do they have buttons?
Why shoes are important.
Why detail is important.
Why wigs are important (and wig caps!)
Why sewing for yourself is the most important and -
- what we mean by "sewing for yourself"
How to be proud of what you can do.
Amazing things you can do and make with the button hole feature....
Things you never thought a sewing machine is possible of doing...
Why it isn't a good idea to see if your sewing machine can fly...

We hope to make this panel enjoyable and fun while getting down to the
nitty gritty of being a artist and bringing art into cosplay. Primarily this
panel is about making your character come to life on you through how
you sew and design their outfit, how you design their wig and what kind
of shoes you wear. This deals with the cosplays that look too fake..
too cartoony.. and the ones that look too real to even know they are from animes..
